The Maine Ghost Hunters Society Team

Hello! I co-founded this group because of the many experiences I have had with the paranormal throughout my lifetime. I have a deep-seeded interest in ghostly phenomena. Previously living in Tennessee on the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, I have seen and felt many things. I have just embarked on my journey in the study of metaphysics. I am extremely receptive and sensitive to energy and feel like I can contribute much to this group. What I hope to gain from this is a better understanding of the afterlife and spirit world.

I am the co-founder of this group along with Robin because I too have had experiences with paranormal activity throughout my life. For as long as I can remember I have been able to sense the presence of spirits. I have co-habited with many and been visited at random elsewhere. Having studied metaphysics for several years now and learned so much about many religions, belief systems, philosophies and theories in that time, I think it contributes a lot to our research. I do the investigations with positive intentions, compassion, and respect for the spirits we encounter. My goal in doing this is to create more awareness of their presence and help others understand what they may be experiencing.

Paranormal research has been an interest of mine for many years now. I have had numberous personal experiences that have left me wanting to know more. I hope that by being a part of MGHS I can be instrumental in creating awareness and bringing a sense of comfort to others in terms of their personal experiences with the paranormal.

I became involved with MGHS after my own terrible experience with multiple spirits I my own home. I have been touched, shoved, grabbed by my neck, and had a spirit walk through me. This experience helped me to become aware that I have an ability to see spirits and communicate with them. Sometimes it is possible for me to understand why spirits remain connected to the living, and through this communication I can help them move on. I also have what's known as Synesthesia. Synesthesia is a combining of the senses. I have the most common form, which is seeing colored letters and numbers and therefore words, names, dates etc, in color. Psychic ability is more pronounced in "synesthetics" and it may explain why I can connect with the spirit world. I prefer to remain anonymous to protect my family and that of my family, however I frequently post to the MGHS forum and participate in investigations as needed. It is my hope that through my experience and abilities I can provide support and possibly answers to clients during what can be a terrifying and confusing time.

My name is Jim Williamson. I joined the Maine Ghost Hunters Society to help people. After having my own personal experiences with the paranormal I began looking for answers, and found them hard to come by. So it is my mission within the group to help people understand circumstances, and situations that they my otherwise not. It is my belief that through comprehensive study we can help to explain the paranormal with scientific means, and understand the world around us a little bit better.

I’ve been interested in the paranormal since I was a child. Like so many others, I grew up in a haunted house and my first experiences with spirits were terrifying. It did , however, spur a live long interest in things that “go bump in the night”. While I have experienced many encounters with spirits in my lifetime, I also really enjoy the scientific aspects of the field and enjoy looking for ways to debunk reported activity. I hope to support MGHS in their dealings with clients, especially families with children. I hope that my professional training in psychology and child development, along with my own childhood experiences, will aid me in helping children understand what they are hearing, seeing and experiencing.

I’m Lisa (a.k.a.; Nym) and I am a paranormal investigator and a professional photographer. We all have our special talents in the group, mine being sensitivity to the spirits. I grew up in a haunted home for the first 20 years of my life and have been studying the paranormal since I was 15. I practice the within the realm of spiritual balance and I focus on feeling out the emotional emanations of the spirit world. Before joining Maine Ghost Hunters Society I worked with other groups aiding those who felt that spirit activity was invading their homes. My aim is to bring hope and relief to those who have come under the oppression of malignant spirits. After all, we should live with balance with the spiritual realm and not in fear of it.

I have been a builder/renovator for almost my entire life and have spent the majority of my time renovating older homes and buildings. I have had many strange and unexplained happenings over the years, such as tools being in a different room from where they had been left, tools missing and never found, doors removed from the hinges, and even the image of a face in a window that caused the window to frost up. While renovating my own historic 1806 home in Warren, Maine, I had many instances of feeling a presence in the home, dramatic temperature changes, and that very real sense of not being along (when I was there by myself). I have had an interest in the spirit world for many years and was surprised to learn that there are so many other people who share my interest. Television has brought the topic to the forefront and made it credible in many people’s eyes. Being a member of the MGHS investigation team will provide me the opportunity to investigate the types of experiences I have had in my life, to help others who have had similar experiences in their lives, and to gather scientific and physical evidence to back up the findings.
Since having my own experience as an adolescent, I had spent a lot of moments wondering if it was my eyes playing tricks on me yet knowing deep inside that they were not. Having no one to talk to who would understand and take me seriously only frustrated me more. Nothing's worse than feeling alone during what can be a scary and confusing time in your life. My goal is to help people and let them know that they are not alone. There are people you can talk to who are willing to help. Having experience with photography and an interest in history will hopefully be beneficial in enabling the team to help others.
As a toddler I experienced a regular visitor to my room who I believe to be my grandfather. We were very close and when he passed I believe he was looking over me and simply wanting to say "hi". Now that I am older, I no longer see him, but am fascinated with history and the paranormal. Being a member of MGHS, I am hoping to find more answers and help others with their problems.
